Feathers, Fun, and Fierce Energy: A Night with The Fly Honeys

By Lori Sapio

Walking into a Fly Honeys show is like a warm embrace. All are welcome, it is gender affirming, cloudy positivity and inclusion. That, and the music, the dancing, the comedy, the  art, the love, the energy, the production…. a nonstop sensory experience.

Some acts I’ve seen before, while some blew me away this time around. Mary Williamson and Melissa “Boom Boom” Duprey  vibe off of each other so naturally and bring all of the laughs. Shannon Matesky was a  welcomed addition to the duo for this Friday night performance. Dalton Rhodes is magical, I  am always in awe of their performance.

If you have yet to experience the Hive, there are two  shows left to head over to Thalia Hall and become a convert.

Be ready for a lot of “pleases”, “thank yous” and “yes daddys” during this truly immersive experience.
