Our Crew

Colette Custin Bevard, Founder and Editor

Colette Custin Bevard developed a love for photography at an early age, working in darkroom photography before moving into shooting live music in 2017.  A life-long music fanatic with a love for the city of Chicago, her passion for capturing pivotal  moments in live performance has led her to shooting everything from small, in-your-face metal shows at Reggie’s Rock Club to arena acts throughout the Midwest.

As the founder, editor, and principal photographer behind Girls Who Snap, she hopes to bring new and upcoming female voices in photography to the Chicago music scene and beyond.

Lori Sapio, Photographer

Lori Sapio began photographing the Chicago electronic music scene in the mid 90s, and loves that she can continue to document those artists today.  Lori was one of the few female photographers covering the drum and bass scene at that time, and traveled throughout the States and the UK freezing moments in time.  Now based in Chicago & Dallas, her work ranges from underground parties, festivals to full scale productions.  Her love of music is always evolving, yet photographing Duran Duran made her 7 year old self's dreams come true.

Savanna Pettengill, Photographer

Savanna Pettengill is a Maine-based photographer, fine artist, and educator. A lifelong storyteller and local live music enthusiast, Savanna has been documenting the Greater Portland, Maine music scene since 2010. Through her music photography, she seeks to capture the creative and community connection between the musicians and with their audience both on and offstage. Her photography practice is vast, and covers mediums from cameraless to film to digital. Both her photography and education work is rooted in empowering others to share their stories, especially the most marginalized voices in our community. She's excited to be joining Girls who Snap to share some of these stories, and to be aligned with their mission.
